What is Dead Letter Bureau?+

Dead Letter Bureau creates physical mystery case files delivered to your door. Each file contains evidence, witness statements, photographs, maps, police notes, coded messages, and other investigative materials.

How does it work?+

Receive your case file, review the evidence, connect the clues, and determine the truth. Once you've reached a conclusion, scan the investigator QR code included in the package to access the case portal and submit your findings.

Are the cases real?+

No. Dead Letter Bureau investigations are fictional experiences designed to feel like authentic recovered case files.

Will there be more cases?+

Yes. The Dead Letter Bureau archive is constantly expanding. New investigations are added as additional files are reconstructed and released.

Playing A Case

How difficult are the cases?+

Case File 001 is designed for beginners and experienced mystery fans alike. Everything required to solve the case is included in the evidence packet.

How long does a case take?+

Most investigators complete Case File 001 in approximately 60 to 90 minutes.

Can I play with friends?+

Absolutely. One case file works well for individuals, couples, families, or small groups of up to four players.

What comes inside the package?+

Each case includes a collection of evidence documents such as witness statements, police reports, photographs, maps, notes, receipts, coded messages, and other investigation materials.

What if I get stuck?+

Every case includes access to an online investigator portal where hints are available. Hints are organized from subtle nudges to stronger guidance so you can choose how much help you want.

What if my QR code doesn't work?+

Every case includes a direct website address in addition to the QR code. If scanning isn't available, simply enter the web address manually.

Do I need an account?+

No account is required. Access to hints and case submission is provided through the QR code included inside your case file.

Is shipping included?+

Yes. Shipping is included in the listed price of all physical case files. No additional shipping fees are charged at checkout.

How long does shipping take?+

Physical case files are printed, assembled, and shipped by hand. Please allow up to 3 weeks for delivery.

Do you offer a digital version?+

Yes. Digital editions are delivered as printable PDF files packaged in a ZIP download. You can print the case at home and begin investigating immediately.

Do I need to print the digital version?+

No. Many investigators prefer printing the documents, but the digital files can also be viewed on a computer, tablet, or mobile device.

Are there jump scares or horror elements?+

No. Dead Letter Bureau focuses on investigation, deduction, and mystery. Some cases may contain mature themes such as crime, disappearances, or violence, but there are no jump scares.

Can I give a case as a gift?+

Absolutely. Dead Letter Bureau case files make great gifts for mystery fans, puzzle lovers, escape room enthusiasts, and aspiring detectives.

Can I replay a case?+

Once you know the solution, the mystery has been solved. However, many investigators enjoy sharing their case file with friends or family members to see if they reach the same conclusion.
